What is Double The Fun? 

  • Double the Fun is comprised of 2 back to back summer internships in neighbouring countries.  
  • Internships are clustered in one of the following fields: cultural education, HIV/AIDs, community development, women's issues or corporate social responsibility projects.
  • Both internships are focused on creating impact in the host environment; working with NGOs, schools or charities on the front line. 
  • AIESEC New Zealand runs Double the Fun to create a positive impact in society while connecting students to the local realities of different communities. 

 

What is provided? 


During your internships

  • Basic food and accomodation provided for the duration of your internship
  • Airport-Pickup in both countries
  • In-Country Orientations and welcome parties
  • Permanent staff support in both host countries, in New Zealand AND with your 24 hour buddy

 

Before and after your internship:

  • A buddy (a local student and AIESEC member studying at the local university in the city you will live in). You will have a chance to meet this buddy before you go, and they will make sure all of you arrangements are organised at their end, and stay in communication with your home university in New Zealand. 
  • Visa and invitation letter support
  • Pre-departure cultural support including preparation workshops on campus to help you deal with culture shock, tips and tricks on being away from New Zealand, and a chance to meet past participants.

 

National Conferences and events

  • One national preparation conference (Outgoing Preparation Seminar) held in New Zealand to prepare you for your internship (Dates TBC)
  • One national re-integration conference (MaXimise) to help you sell and market you cultural experience to employers (February 2012)

 

 

What countries and regions can I travel to?

Currently we offer Double the Fun in Indonesia and Malaysia!

 

What are the costs?

  • 950 NZ dollars including GST which covers all the above
  • Flights, insurance and visa costs are not included
